Knowing that everything is temporary, little - or nothing - surprise us. We know then that the people we live with will not be here forever, that the possessions may not always be ours; there are no guarantees that we always occupy the social position they occupy today, there is no health unwavering; that even the most solid buildings can be destroyed by natural phenomena or man.

Therefore, we must be prepared for what life can bring. We must not lose sight of the temporary nature of earthly things. But far from being negative or pessimistic, to despair thinking about bad things that have not happened yet and may never happen, it is time to strengthen our faith and fulfill our duties. This is the most efficient preparation.

We need not live in fear or despair; today fulfilling our duties and having faith in God, our worries about the future are slim. Faith does not exclude the problems of life, which also appear to those who believe in the Almighty, but generates forces to work and move on and kills useless revolt.

Where, when and if possible, simplify the most of our material possessions allows us to considerably reduce our concerns. I repeat: where, when and if possible.

The priorities we choose determine how and in what employ our time. Likewise, the way we use our time denouncing what are our priorities. The certainty that our time on earth is too short to be a light to guide our choices of priorities.

What should be our top priority? Improve, within the context in which we live: to be better fathers, mothers, sons, husbands, wives, employees, bosses, leaders, team members, students, professionals. Be better with other people, the environment, with the planet. Be better for our health, our bodies. Be better with our spirit. Study and grow forever, even in the spiritual sense of the term. Living in contact with the High, by prayer, good thoughts and good deeds.

Therefore, the question arises: how we do it? We live a contemplative life of prayer and meditation alone? Should we isolate ourselves, to get away from everything that is of this world, leave all the comforts that we enjoy and all the activities that we play? This question has been answered brilliantly for over a century, the " Gospel According to Spiritism ":
